Installing OpenSSH Packages

It has been noted that on some Solaris systems, scp and sftp may not work unless /usr/local/bin in in your PATH before /usr/bin. The older scp that comes with Solaris may conflict with the new openssl packages.

The installation of openssh on SPARC or Intel machines running various levels of the Solaris OE is different from platform to platform. Click on the link below that is appropriate for your system. If you have questions about the use of openssh or related programs, please go to the given documentation or web links first, but feel free to email me Contact Information after you have studied everything. Setting up secure ssh links is something you should really study carefully and keep up-to-date. I am providing packages that work for me, but if your systems are different you may need to do your own compiles and installation to get precisely what you want.

These pages also discuss the installation of openssl which is used by openssh and other packages and how to generate the entropy for openssl. The method varies depending on the level of Solaris you are using.
