MKPSRES installation summary ---------------------------- (Januari 1996) This directory contains the sources to build mkpsres the TeX variant of makepsres that has a MSDOS friendlier name. To install mkpsres: 1) Copy Makefile.unx to Makefile. Adapt TEXMF, BINDIR and MANDIR to your local conventions. PSRESOURCEPATH is the default path where PS resource databases are looked for. If you want to put your resources on the place where Display PostScript (DPS) keeps them then use this location in the Makefile. Look in places like: /usr/lib/DPS/outline (SGI), /usr/lib/X11/fonts/Type1Adobe (DEC/OSF alpha) /usr/openwin/lib/X11/fonts/Type1/outline (SUN Solaris). `make mkpsres' will build the program. 2) The program and manual page can be installed with `make install'. 3) To create a resource database, after installing all PS resources, you must run mkpsres. For example: mkpsres $TEXMF/dvips /usr/lib/DPS/outline On UNIX this creates PSres.upr (PSRES.DPR on MSDOS). If there was a previous version that will be backuped as PSres.upr~ (PSRES.BAK). When you run mkpsres with a directory argument containing non PS resources these will be included in the category `mkpsresPrivate'. They can be removed with an editor. --Piet Januari 1996
